Signal & Frame is one stubborn engineer and a desk covered in screws. I am Jonas Reed, formerly hardware QA, now writing up whatever I take apart in the evenings.

The rule here is simple: nothing gets a verdict until I have lived with it or opened it. Specs are a starting point, not a conclusion. If the manufacturer will not tell me where the heat goes, I will find out myself.

When a company helps fund a piece or sends a unit, it is stated in the standfirst before you read a word of opinion. The loupe, the calipers and the grumbling are not for sale.
